On Track Group and Harry Needle Railroad Company join forces in rolling stock service collaboration

On Track Group (OTG) and Harry Needle Railroad Company (HNRC) are working in partnership to provide turnkey solutions to the rolling stock industry.

This joint venture will allow the partnership to deliver all client requirements from a convenient location in the Midlands, including:

Compliance

In line with its accreditations, the partnership will ensure its pool of resource is compliant to industry standards. All technical staff hold relevant qualifications and are trained to the highest standards. If requested, all technical staff can be enrolled on to a competency management system where qualified level 3 assessors can ensure sustainment of staff competence levels.

Accreditations

On Track Group holds various accreditations and is compliant with BS EN ISO 9001:2015

(UKAS), ISO 14001:2015 (UKAS), verified member of RISQS (Railway Industry Supplier Qualification), verified member of CIRAS (Confidential Reporting for Safety) and a corporate member of the REC (Recruitment and Employment Confederation). This allows us to deliver the best quality service to our clients.

Facilities and Capabilities

All sites are compounds protected by 3m high prison mesh fencing with razor wire. HNRC has a comprehensive security system which comprises of 24hr CCTV at vulnerable points, motion sensors linked to the CCTV with remote monitoring provided at Bassetlaw Council including Police response. Access control; via locked gates 24 hours. Out of working hours site-based security patrols with a guard dog and handler. The security services are provided by Digitech Security Solutions Limited. All installations are certified to SSAIB standards by an independent company.

HNRC Worksop boasts a list of excellent rolling stock maintenance and storage facilities.

Site 1 – Downside – has 4 x maintenance sheds on site and a 15-acre footprint.

Shed 1 (2 Track) – 38m long with a deep pit and a 5-tonne overhead crane. Shed 2 (3 Tracks) – 150m long with a deep pit.

Shed 3 (3 Tracks) – 50m long with 2 x deep pits and 1 x shallow pit plus a 1-tonne overhead crane.

Shed 4 (3 Tracks) – 40m long with a 16-tonne overhead crane.

All maintenance sheds are fully fitted with compressed air, 110V, 240V and 415V electrical outlets.

Site 2 – Upside – 20-acre footprint with storage facilities and maintenance road.

Site 3 – Station Yard – 3-acre footprint with storage facilities.

All client requirements in respect of vehicle lifting jacks, forklift truck operations and trained shunter drivers and shunter vehicles can be accommodated.

HNRC Worksop also provides staff accommodation, including office space, mess rooms, toilets, and shower facilities.

HNRC are currently in the process of putting in a further two Road maintenance facilities along with a paint booth and vehicle wash plant. This work is expected to be complete by the end of 2023.
